Back in July 1985 Lyn Roberts our current MD, helped start a company called Z Cars get of the ground, this is where she caught the "Taxi" bug and in October of that year, started a small company from her back room called "Lyn's Roller Cars", in those days you did not need the Licenses you need now and there were plenty of small companies around. This company was sold off in 1987 so Lyn could commit to her Family for the next couple of years as their exams took president.

Due to financial problems that Roller Cars were having in 1990, Lyn made an offer to clear the debt for the control in the company. This was to be the beginning of "Lyn's Cars".

At this point her eldest son, Jon, became the day controller, The company was small, at about 8 cars. The company saw a very steady growth over the next 12 years. By this time Jon felt that he would like the chance to try and move the company forward and offered to buy the company of 34 Cars from his mother and make changes most noticeably the Name. So on 1st May 2002 A2B Worthing Private Hire opened it's doors to the Worthing Public. Over the next 3 years a lot happened and after purchasing 2 more companies and adding an additional 30 Cars, the company became the leaders for Private Hire in Worthing.

I August of 2005 the company had grown so large that Jon felt that he needed assistance in the Running of the company. So there was only one person he could and would turn to!!

Back to the helm came Lyn and together they created a Limited company and installed a new Booking and Despatch system to carry on the investment into the business. Lyn became the Managing Director and Jon became the company secretary. After the first year as a Limited company it was decided that a change of image was needed and so after numerous different ideas it was decided on the Big, Bold Logo you see at the top of these pages.

Over the last 25 years, A2B have trained many staff member and drivers some of whom have gone on to start their own businesses after leaving A2B, including M&D's original owners and also the current owners of A&A, and we like to think that we have shown them the way to go as both companies are still running, just not on the scale of A2B.

I 2009 it was time for a change of scenery and A2B Worthing moved from thier seaside premises to a new Unit on a Businbess Park. This new office offered a reception room, Meeting Room, Control Room as well as seperate offices for Lyn and Jon. The move went very smoothly and the office is being used to bring in new corporate clients, using our impressive suroundings.

So here we are in 2010 and A2B Worthing now have the largest fleet of vehicles in Worthing and it's surrounding area and are one of the most technically advanced companies in West Sussex.

Over the past few years we have seen many changes in the way that we operate our services. Having invested heavily in the latest state of the art booking and despatch technology, we now have the best equipped company in the area to suit all our customers needs.
